A lovely literary landmark, the O. Henry House Museum was once home to famed short story writer William Sydney Porter, better known as O. Henry. The Queen Anne-style cottage contains an array of personal artifacts, such as Porter's writing desk, numerous rare books and the writer's bedroom furniture, silverware and china. The museum is located in the Convention Center district of downtown Austin, near the Mexic-Arte Museum and the Arthouse at the Jones Center.
