Description:

A harbor for rescued and abandoned animals, The Austin Zoo & Animal Sanctuary is a private, non-profit organization funded solely through zoo admissions and private donations. Home to over 100 species, the zoo offers visitors up close interaction with everything from Bengal tigers to ring-tailed lemurs to leopard geckos and beyond. Complete with train rides, a concession stand, a picnic area and gift shop, this terrific zoo was voted "Best Nature Day Trip" in 2007 by Austin Chronicle readers. Located halfway between Austin and Dripping Springs, the zoo lies less than six miles from the Wild Connections Butterfly Farm.

it was great for the kids and family, all around good fun, i recommend it to all families
