Founded by former first lady Lady Bird Johnson and actress Helen Hayes, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a botanical garden devoted to displaying more than 500 species of Austin’s native plants. With a staff of more than two dozen, the garden works to educate visitors about conserving ecosystems and other natural landscapes. The botanical garden lies in southwest Austin, just south of Slaughter Creek Park.
Open May - Mar: Tue. - Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Sun. noon - 5:30 p.m.; Apr. open daily 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Adults $7; Seniors (60+) & Students (13+) $6; Children (5-12) $3; Children 4 and under are Free.
